Sep 05 2014 Clean Energy Works Portland: “A community that’s come together”
Clean Energy Works Portland, which we profiled in a recent case study, is a pilot program that saves energy, improves a home’s comfort and value, and reduces carbon emissions, while creating high-quality jobs for Portland residents in the process. It was designed in partnership with stakeholders to set forth a series of community goals and standards concerning job quality, diverse business participation, and access to opportunity for workers from under served and historically disadvantaged communities.
In this video, Green For All CEO Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins explains: “This is happening in the City of Portland because of a partnership with the city and the mayor, members of the City Council, the labor movement, civil rights organizations, faith organizations, and really a community that’s come together.”
